Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew’s play has been somewhat conflicting in the previous two games, yet evidently, he has an excellent reason for that.
Minshew went through an X-ray this week that uncovered he has various fractures and a strained ligament in his correct thumb, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. He initially started encountering distress in the hand on Oct. 11 against the Houston Texans, however, the Jags didn’t get some answers concerning the injury until this week.
The Jaguars have a bye this week, yet it’s hazy if Minshew will have the option to play in Week 9 when Jacksonville faces the Texans once more.
Minshew has tossed five scores contrasted with only one block attempt over the Jags’ last three games, yet his normal yards per consummation has dropped off fundamentally. That could have something to do with the injury.
Despite the fact that his numbers have been genuinely strong, there was a discussion before the injury was uncovered that Minshew could be sidelined emerging from the bye. Doug Marrone indicated rolling out some huge improvements to his 1-6 team, and Minshew’s physical issue may give the coach more of a reason to perceive what rookie sixth-round pick Jake Luton can do.
