Morgan Rogers, a striker for Middlesbrough, has signed a long-term deal with Aston Villa.
To stay competitive at the top of the Premier League standings, the West Midlands team has been trying to strengthen their offensive ranks throughout January.
After falling to Newcastle United 3-1 on Tuesday, Unai Emery’s team has now only won once in five games and is now in fifth place in the rankings.
However, Villa have finally secured their main target for the month in Rogers, despite Middlesbrough rejecting several offers.
Although the exact cost has not been made public, it is believed to be about £15 million. Boro decided to make a profit on a player that they had just bought from Manchester City the previous summer.
Although Rogers did not have a significant influence during his loan periods at Lincoln City and Blackpool, the England Under-20 international was a revelation during his brief stay at the Riverside Stadium.

With five goals and three assists in only six games, Rogers led Boro to the EFL Cup semi-finals, where Chelsea ultimately defeated them.
Despite only managing two goals and six assists in 26 Championship games, Rogers demonstrated his ability with a long-range goal against Chelsea in between Chelsea’s rejections of his proposals.
The youngster, who moved to Manchester City in 2019 and will have a sell-on option, is no stranger to the West Midlands, having spent time in the West Bromwich Albion youth ranks.
Rogers has been assigned the number 27 jersey by Villa, and on Saturday night, when Villa plays Sheffield United in the Premier League, he might make his debut.
